Ricardo, currently executive of the channels Abril Canais de Televisão do Grupo Abril, presents to Fox Filmes the project of the production company Luz Filmes of the feature film Bezerra de Menezes: O Diário de um Espírito. Voluntary initiative, whitout commercial interests and driven by the belief in the potential of this cinematographic genre.
2008 – The movie Bezerra de Menezes is released in just 42 rooms, makes the highest avarage audience per room and the number of copies rises to 65 in its second week of exhibition. The movie surprised everyone, exceeding the mark of 500.000 tickets sold.
The Grupo Abril decides to close the activities of the Canais Abril de Televisão. Luís Eduardo Girão, Director of Luz Filmes, invites Ricardo to coproduce his own film, named As Mães de Chico Xavier and to become partner in his production company. Ricardo agrees to be a co-producer, but in octuber of that year, inaugurates the Lighthouse Produções Cinematográficas. The company focuses in the development of audiovisual content of all genres.
Luiz Eduardo Girão joins the production of the biographical film Chico Xavier: O Filme. An agreement between the producers establishes that this movie will be released before As Mães de Chico Xavier. Ricardo leads the divulgation of the movie in São Paulo. Representing the team in interviews and television programs. The movie is released in that same year and reach the mark of 3.5 million tickets sold, consecrating the cinematographic genre.
The release of As Mães de Chico Xavier successful and the movie reaches the mark of 515.000 tickets sold. The LightHouse partners with FAEL to produce the film O Filme dos Espíritos.
The LightHouse acquires the rights to the book 3.000 Dias no Bunker: Um País na Mão e um plano na cabeça, by Guilherme Fiuza, author of O meu nome não é Jhonny. In the same year, O Filme dos Espíritos is released and reaches the mark of 325.000 tickets sold. The movie was made whitout public resouces and generated profit for its investors.
The LightHouse partners with Nation Filmes, gets firts-stage approval at Ancine and PROAC-ICMS for the 3000 Dias no Bunker project, which reports the implementation of the Plano Real in Brazil’s recent past.
The project of 3000 Dias no Bunker is rejected by Ancine. The production of the documentary Paixão, Suor e Graxa begins. The Lighthouse has two comtemplated project in Prodav 02/2013: the documentary series Fotógrafos, for the channel Fashion TV Brasil, and Guerreiros da Selva for the channel Prime Fox Brazil.
After one year of negotiations and adjustments in the project, the LightHouse gets approval from Ancine’s complementary review of the movie 3.000 Dias no Bunker. The company for the production of the film changes to Maristela Filmes, with whom LightHouse begins the production. The LightHouse joins ESPN and displays Paixão, Suor e Graxa at ESPN International, on november 15. The LightHouse acquires the script rights to the film Lili Marlene, to be shot in Israel, regarding the trajectory of the actress Marlene Dietrich as opposed to Nazism in World War II.
The movie 3.000 Dias no Bunker is on its final post-production phase. The series Fotógrafos has its production started. The Lighthouse is contemplated with two new documentary series at Prodav 02/2016: Fotógrafos 2 e Em Busca de Kardec.
